Savu Saunas, a rapidly growing Tasmanian wellness business, has been announced as a State Finalist in the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards for not one, but two categories – Championing Health and Outstanding Growth.

Founded in 2023, Savu Saunas has quickly transformed under-utilised public spaces across Tasmania into inclusive, affordable, and fully accessible hot and cold therapy hubs. From Devonport’s Bluff Beach to Cradle Mountain, the company has created iconic recovery spaces that support physical and mental wellbeing while building stronger community connections.

Brad McDonald, Founder of Savu Saunas, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as finalists in both categories. What started as a simple idea to make recovery facilities more accessible has grown into a state-wide wellness movement. This recognition reflects the support of our community, our partnerships with local councils and sporting clubs, and our commitment to helping Tasmanians live healthier, more connected lives.”

“The whole process has been incredibly rewarding and has given me time to truly reflect on the journey so far. While I was back in Tasmania setting up Savu Saunas, none of this would have been possible without Marten, my incredible team, and the valued clients back in WA who were holding the fort at my previous company, Penguin Electrical, which I have since sold. Regardless of any award outcome, this experience has reminded me of the strong family roots I come from and how those values of loyalty, hard work, and community have flowed into my relationships with clients, suppliers, and staff. It has sharpened my focus on where we’ve come from, what we’ve built, and most importantly, where we’re heading next.”
